The Poetic Gourmette is a collection of the author’s gourmet recipes interspersed with her original poetry. American Dream-Hungry in America
11-22-2010-(Part1)

According to the Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service, almost 1 in 7 American households had to confront hunger in 2009. The first question that might come to mind is ok, now what? What are the best remedies? Should we have more social spending programs or fewer programs that are better managed? Why not simply concentrating on improving economy because for many the best assistance program is a 'job'? Ultimately, however, the most upsetting question is how could one seventh of America's families face hunger in a country with the most bountiful agriculture on earth?
